Dr. Bryan G. Chaffee, M.D. of San Francisco, CA, died October 25, 2006 on the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania, Africa. He was born June 17, 1968 in Newton, Kansas to Myron G. and Karen L. Chaffee. He was preceded in death by his brother Brent. Bryan graduated from Hesston High School in 1986 and from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1994. He was licensed as a physician in California in 1995 and completed his emergency residency in 1997. Dr. Chaffee was an emergency room doctor at the California Pacific Hospital in San Francisco. He had recently taken a leave of absence to join the Doctors Without Borders program and had been assigned to Darfur, Sudan in Africa. He has done medical volunteer work around the world including Peru, Java, Thailand and Pakistan. Bryan will be greatly missed by his family and many friends he has made on his life's journey serving his fellow man.
